Charm Bracelet

Since I don't attend regular WW meetings so I don't receive all the little cute weight loss incentives they give out.  I needed a little encouragement along the way and saw a web site where they use charms on a charm bracelet to give themselves incentive.  I decided I would love to have a charm bracelet to mark the achievements along my journey too, so here's my bracelet so far:

Noah's Ark:
"God Keeps His Promises"
is what the sign in my living room read.  This is the last charm on my bracelet as a reminder of God's promise that He will be with me to the end and that I can do it.

Caterpillar:
It's my charm for starting the program and reminds me that I can become a new creature.  My goal weight charm will be a butterfly (see below).

Number 3:
It's the number that I had to face on the scale.  It upset me that I was over 300 lbs and realistically quickly approaching 400 lbs.  So this charm reminds me where I was that if I continue to count my points on program, I can succeed.

Track Shoe:
Exercise and getting active is one of the things I never thought that I would do.  I reached my goal of walking 100 miles on Oct. 27th.

Texas Route 66 Charm:
This is what I chose as my 10% weight loss goal charm.  I'm from Texas and reaching that 10% goal would mean that I'm on my way home to goal!  I reached that goal on 01/27/03

Number 2:
I've not weighed under 300 since just after Jeff and I got married.  So being under the 300 mark is my next personal goal.  When I reached this goal I also passed the 50 lbs lost mark.  I reached this goal on 03/14/03

Volleyball:
I've been playing with our community volleyball group which meets on Tuesday and Thursday nights during the school year.  This charm is for reaching my 20% weight loss goal.  I reached that goal on 06/12/03.

Heart in Hand:
The next charm I'm working for will be 75 lbs. lost.  I reached this goal on 12/05/03

Water Bottle:
Getting on program again and needed a reminder to drink all that water! Reached my 3rd 10% on 03/04/05.

Dalmatian:
This charm I wanted for 101 pound loss for the reference to my Dalmatians.  My goal is to reach this my January 31, 2005, my husband's 40th birthday.  I was a little late on this one, but earned it on 04/22/05

Commitment:  To celebrate my 40% loss reaching 225.5 lbs.  After such a long plateau, I realized that it's staying committed to this weight loss journey and committing to an entire lifestyle change.  Not just reaching a certain goal and thinking that it'll magically stay there for me, I have to keep working on it.  I earned this charm on 09/23/05.

"Paws" for Baby:  These three charms show the 'pause' that I needed to take in my weight loss journey while I was pregnant and the first few months of breast feeding.   Life got a little crazy after the baby, so my break was longer than I intended.

  Working to Earn:

Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon:  Trying to get back on track for the zillionth time, at least it feels that way.  I wanted a goal outside of the number on the scale, what I was eating, and working out.  So I joined the Weekend to End Breast Cancer!  Here's my charm for raising $2000!

Number 1:  This charm will signify several milestones in my weight loss  journey and a very important number to me.  At 200.3 I'll have officially lost 5 10% losses of my body weight.  Then just a little after that I'll be in
'One-derland.'  I don't even know when was the last time I weighed under 200 lbs.

Archery with Arrow in Target:  180 lbs. is my personal goal for weight loss.  At 182.6 I have lost 50% of my body weight.  At this point, it's just amazing to think that I could ever get here.  I'm not sure if I'll work on getting down to what WW's says I should be at 158.5.  I don't know if that's a reasonable goal for my body type, I guess I'll see when I get there!

Tortoise:  "Slow and steady wins the race."  164.3 lbs should be my 7th 10% of my weight gone and not too far away from what WW's set as my goal weight.  I guess I'll need lots of encouragement to hang in there at this point.

Butterfly:
Ultimately to be at my goal weight of 180.0 pounds will mark a successful journey.  I've already got my eye on a butterfly charm made by James Avery, my favorite jeweler.

I purchased my bracelet and most of the charms at http://www.bluemud.com.  I've had excellent service from them and I suggest that you check it out.  You can't beat their prices either!
